Finding the right training

The two main ways that you can complete training are through a New Apprenticeship or a training course. There are benefits to each of these options, and the decision will depend on the specific job you want to do, and your own personal circumstances. For more information on the different pathways, see Education and Training: The Facts.

New Apprenticeship:

A New Apprenticeship combines paid employment and formal training, so that you develop practical skills and gain experience at the same time as you gain your qualification.

If you choose a New Apprenticeship, your employer will help to organise the training by choosing from a list of approved training providers. You might attend a training centre for part of your New Apprenticeship, or complete all the training on-the-job.

Training course:

A training course involves completing training in a traditional classroom setting, or through distance or online learning.

If you decide to complete a training course, you will need to find a Registered Training Organisation and enrol in your chosen course. See below for more information.
